An Overview of the Estate Sale Process

Sandy Root, owner of Bentley Estate Sales, created the Grumpy Rooster.com to sell and showcase items we consign from our estate sales. Items can be placed here for more exposure.
A family run business - we specialize in professional estate sale services to assist attorney's and individuals in liquidating a lifetime of treasures and household furnishings.

Bentley Estates Sales can conduct the Estate Sale, Stage the Home, and if desired List the House for Sale.
The homeowners are encouraged to remove all of their personal treasures and belongings they wish to keep. It is essential that the owners never throw anything away. To begin the process our team of professionals will perform an initial walk through and appraisal of all items to be sold. Bentley Estate Sales will then go on location, tag each item, inventory any item with it's fair market value, clean and display each item in a professional manner.

Estate sales are usually conducted two to four days as needed, depending on size of the estate.
Our estate sales are typically held on weekends to allot for maximum customer availability.
No additional fees are assessed for advertising, labor, credit card purchases, or other supplies required. In addition, we can offer to buyout or consign any unsold items at the end of the sale.
We will arrange a charitable donation pickup for unsold items.

   •  Cleaning, arranging, and professional display of all merchandise, tastefully tagged, and
       clearly priced
   •  Cleanup and allocation of charitable items
   •  Credit Card services that make larger purchases easier for our customers
   •  Free Advertising in local circulations, and various internet websites
   •  Consignment availablitity in our Online store The Grumpy Rooster, or
       Ebay options for certain unsold items.
   •  Photo Gallery Listed here on Grumpy Rooster.com
   •  Delivery capability after the sale for a small fee

Our Qualifications:
   •  A qualified and knowledgeable team that includes Professional Organizers, Stagers,
       Interior Designers, and Realtors
   •  Qualified Appraisers with over thirty years experience

Bentley Estate Sales is contracted on a commission based system:
   •  We will determine a commission based upon the total appraised value of the merchandise
       for sale, and required labor.
   •  No additional fees are assessed and no money is due upfront.

Why an Estate Sale vs. Auction:
Estate Sales allow the client to reserve equitable control of what an item sells for. However, auctions deprive the client of its control over what an item may sell for. Also, an estate sale is conducted in a climate controlled residence providing comfort for customers and facilitates as a professional environment to stage the homeowner’s lifelong accumulation of treasures. An auctions success or failure is subject to inclement weather. Unlike its counterpart, estate sales offer lower commission and no additional fees for advertisement. In additions, the remaining quality items may be consigned, and a significant charitable donation may be afforded on other items.
